Session Title: IACUC Policies and Procedures for ²ÝÁñÉçÇø Researchers
Description: This workshop is required for anyone, including faculty, staff, and students who will be involved in vertebrate animal care or work at ²ÝÁñÉçÇø. We will touch upon several topics: why animal care programs are necessary; roles and responsibilities of all contributors (administration, staff, investigators, students, etc.); federal welfare regulations; role of the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC); importance of IACUC protocols; and reporting animal mishandling. The training is mandatory for anyone involved in an IACUC approved protocol; this includes anyone handling, managing, or working with vertebrate animals in any capacity. Please plan to attend this in-person workshop to ensure that you are in full compliance with research requirements.
