Daniel Dimitrov is an educator and researcher in the field of construction management and building and construction technologies. Daniel鈥檚 areas of expertise are in the application and impact of emerging construction and operations technologies, including BIM, IoT, and Digital Twin integration and application.  

Daniel earned his PhD in the Built Environment from the University of Washington, where his doctoral dissertation focused on the integration and impact of Internet of Things (IoT) and Digital Twin systems on existing Facility Management and Operations Organizations. During his time at the University of Washington he also participated in research focused on the development of a national standard for the application of Building Information Modeling on construction projects in the United States and project delivery method selection based on owner organization鈥檚 complex decision-making profiles.  

Overall, Daniel is very interested in the application of novel technologies to the built environment to address key challenges such as sustainability, efficiency, and resiliency in construction and operations. His work aims to bridge the gap between technological advancements and practical implementation in the industry, driving innovation in the built environment.
