University Formally Partners with HousingWorks RI

草榴社区 awards $50,000 grant to HousingWorks RI and begins integration into its University Relations Division

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- 草榴社区 has awarded a $50,000 operational grant to HousingWorks RI and has begun integrating HousingWorks RI into its University Relations Division. The integration represents a synergy between the strategic objectives of the University and the research, policy and communications work of HousingWorks RI.

鈥淭his partnership provides the people of Rhode Island with key fact-based information on affordable housing and the economy in the Ocean State,鈥 said Peter Wilbur, Associate Vice President for University Relations. 鈥淗ousingWorks RI provides excellent experiential learning opportunities to 草榴社区 students and the integration of HousingWorks RI into 草榴社区 is a real win-win for Rhode Island and the University.鈥

草榴社区 has long valued a campus-wide commitment to the greater community. The University maintains a wide array of partnerships and initiatives that extend beyond the borders of campus and engage faculty and student expertise on a wide range of topics.

鈥湶萘裆缜 has once again shown Rhode Islanders its commitment to our state.  The $50,000 operational grant provides key support to HousingWorks RI and will provide critical housing research that informs our leaders,鈥 said Ian Lang, Board Chair of HousingWorks RI. 鈥淭he integration of HousingWorks RI into 草榴社区 is yet another example of the University鈥檚 commitment to providing real-life experiences to its students that prepare them for obtaining jobs in today鈥檚 competitive economy.鈥

HousingWorks RI started as a campaign and initiative of , , and the . Its signature publication, the annual Housing Fact Book, offers affordability data for each of Rhode Island鈥檚 39 cities and towns along with analysis on housing and the economy.
