Department of Psychology
The Department of Psychology provides an enriching learning experience for students interested in understanding human behavior.
The mission of the Department of Psychology is to educate students about the theories and research that guide the field of psychology, and to train them to use an empirical approach for understanding human behavior. The department is committed to excellence in teaching and research. We strive to involve our students in our research whenever possible. Our interests are diverse and comprehensive and we are committed to examining human diversity issues.
Degree Programs
Our undergraduate psychology program prepares students to pursue graduate study in psychology and other fields, or to enter a number of careers, including human resources, management, marketing, education and mental health professions. Our Master of Arts in Forensic Mental Health Counseling is designed for students who wish to provide mental health services in forensic or legal settings and our Master of Arts in Forensic & Legal Psychology is designed to prepare students for Ph.D. programs focused on research.
Faculty and Staff
The Department of Psychology consists of 13 full-time faculty, all of whom have Ph.Ds. They are directly involved with all aspects of educating our students.
Undergraduate and Graduate Research Information
The Department of Psychology encourages undergraduate research participation. Research participation provides a unique opportunity to become familiar with how research is conducted and give students experience to help bolster their resumes.
